Christopher Beard

Christopher Beard

Christopher is the Advisor for students last names A-F. He has a broad range of counseling experiences including: Director of Second Chance Boys Ranch, Cancer Treatment Centers, Oklahoma Correctional Facilities, Cleo Wallace Treatment Center and Director of National Leadership Academy. Christopher earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business Marketing as well as his Master's Degree in Christian Counseling with an emphasis in Child Psychology from Oral Roberts University.

An avid runner, Christopher competed with world-class runners in a 1600-meter run. He also won the Pikes Peak Marathon and competes in annual Iron Man competitions.

Christopher and his wife, Lisa, have four children, two daughters and two sons. Together, they love traveling and greeting adventures of any kind.

Christina Carrillo
(Last Names G-M)

Christina Carrillo

Christina is the Advisor for students last names G-M. Christina brings a wealth of knowledge and experience into her role as Academic Advisor. During the 2010-2011 school year, she was the school counselor at Martinez Elementary in District 11. Christina was born and raised on the Central Coast of California, and moved to Colorado Springs in November, 2006. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in History from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. She earned her Master's Degree in Counseling and Human Services, with an emphasis in School Counseling, from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. She is currently working toward earning her Colorado State Licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).

In her spare time, Christina enjoys hiking the Manitou Incline, going to movies, reading, and spending time with her family. After a long day at work, you can often find her at the gym or playing "Just Dance" with her two daughters, Elizabeth and Erin. Christina is married to her high school sweetheart, Andrew.

Stacy Vogel
(Last Names N-Z)

Stacy Vogel

Stacy is the Advisor for students last names N-Z. She has been in education for the past several years. She started her journey in education by teaching in a small school in Michigan where she was the only high school English teacher. She then moved to Colorado and continued to teach high school English for three more years. Stacy earned her Bachelor's Degree with a double major in English and Physical Education from Central Michigan University. She then went on to earn her Master's Degree in Counseling and Human Services from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.

Stacy enjoys hiking, being outside, and sitting down with a good book. Another favorite past time is traveling, as she has studied abroad in Austrailia and has traveled through New Zealand, Australia, Bali, and several countries in Europe. She is always looking for a chance to explore new places, learn about new cultures, and experience new adventures.

Michelle Foust 
(Learning Specialist)

Michelle Michelle Foustis the Learning Specialist here at CSEC and has been in education for the past four years. She is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio and moved to Colorado in a few years ago. She received her Bachelor's degree in Mental Health and Human Services from Northern Kentucky University and her Master's in Special Education from Grand Canyon University. She is a "tomboy" to the core and loves many different sports. 

She spent many summers working for a summer camp leading adolescents in team building, and teaching them outdoor activities such as rock climbing, water skiing, and putting them through high ropes course challenges. She enjoys the mountains as well as hiking, snowboarding and camping. She spends most of her free time outdoors with her fiance, Eric, and dog, Denali. She is getting married in Costa Rica in June.

CSEC shares a campus with CTU and partners with CSEC to offer CTU college courses to CSEC students as part of  CSEC's normal school day.

         

  CSEC is authorized by Charter School Institute, a state-wide organization that acts somewhat like a school district.

           

Colorado League of Charter Schools supports CSEC with training and other services.
